The Department of Mineral Resources has updated the latest "earthquake" event in the Andaman Sea, measuring 5.2 north of the Sumatra Islands, confirming that there are no reports of impacts in Thailand. It will not cause a tsunami because it is small, the fault moves horizontally, and there is no uplift of water mass like the 2004 tsunami.
