The demolition of the Vjesnik tower block in Zagreb has been postponed after asbestos was found on the top floor. Following the discovery, further work on the upper part of the building, which burned down last November and was scheduled to be demolished by mid-May, has been halted.
THE DEMOLITION of Vjesnik has been postponed because asbestos was discovered on the 16th floor, which will also delay the opening of Slavonska Avenue, although there is no danger to citizens.
It is not clear how the Vjesnik tower block will be demolished or where the construction waste will be disposed of.
The technical supervision has prohibited work on the 15th floor.
