Eighty years ago, the post-World War II national elections were held. On November 4, 1945, Hungarian democracy proved to be functional – it took lengthy and complicated machinations to destroy it.
To mark five decades since the death of dictator Francisco Franco, RTVE presents from this Wednesday and throughout the month of November the documentary series 50 years of the great change, which represents a largely unprecedented look at "some of the historical episodes that marked the end of the dictatorship and the beginning of democracy."
