The civil society group Democracy Hub has filed a lawsuit in Ghana's Supreme Court over the African country's government's collaboration with the administration of US President Donald Trump in deporting immigrants from the US. Since the beginning of September, the US has deported at least 42 people from various African and other countries to Ghana.
Democracy Hub claims that the agreement is unconstitutional because it was not approved by parliament, and that Ghana is violating international law by detaining deportees in inhumane conditions and sending them onward to countries where they may be in danger.
