Russia’s Defense Ministry on Monday claimed the capture of another village in Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region, as local authorities issued fresh evacuation orders following deadly attacks on civilian areas.

The head of Sumy region Oleg Grigorov told on the air “Public. Studio” about the security situation in the region, the condition of the injured after the attack on the bus, evacuation, resettlement and assistance to IDPs.

Ukrainian authorities announced today that they have begun evacuating residents of more than 200 settlements in the Sumy region near the border with Russia, DPA reported. So far, 52,000 people have been evacuated to safety, the head of the Sumy regional military administration, Oleg Grigorov, told Ukrainian television. He indicated that this is about 60% of the total 86,000 civilians who are subject to evacuation from these settlements.
