Delores “Dee” Ann Murrell Witcher was born on February 8, 1953, in Rotan, Texas. She grew up in Jayton, Texas, as the youngest of six children and later moved to Lubbock, where she met the love of her life. They were married in Lubbock on October 27, 1978, and lived in Littlefield, Texas, until 1980, when they moved to Brownwood to be closer to her parents, who had retired there.
