Delaware County 911 center handled a day’s worth of calls in three hours Sunday

The Delaware County 911 dispatchers received over 1,500 calls during the three-hour period when winds were gusting Sunday. To put that in perspective, on average there are about 1,200 911 calls in a 24-hour day. Edward Beebe, interim director of Delaware County Emergency Services, said that Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. the center received more calls than over a typical 24 hour period when the would get 1200 calls.
