Defense company Anduril Industries announces plans for major new campus in Long Beach
Anduril plans to create about 5,500 jobs at a 1.18 million sq ft Long Beach campus to enhance defense tech development and scaling operations.
- On Jan. 22, Anduril Industries announced plans to open a 1.18 million square foot campus across six buildings in Long Beach, California, with a nearly $1 billion investment, the company said.
- Because of the region's aerospace history, Anduril picked Long Beach, California, citing its defense legacy, local engineering talent, and proximity to Costa Mesa headquarters and Capistrano test site.
- Leasing more than 1 million square feet, Anduril will build six buildings with 750,000 square feet of office space and 435,000 square feet for R&D, designed to support integrated workflows.
- The plan will support about 5,500 jobs, and Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jeremy Harris and Mayor Rex Richardson called it a vote of confidence for economic growth.
- After recent test flights, Anduril plans to enable factory-based production and deployment of Fury autonomous fighter jets that could fly directly to customers, the company said.
