Rice Issues Injury Update After Limping Off in England Win
Rice said the substitution was precautionary and that he is expected to be available for England's next group match, easing injury concerns.
England midfielder Declan Rice confirmed he will be available for the second World Cup match against Ghana after appearing to limp off during the 4-2 victory over Croatia.
Manager Thomas Tuchel replaced Rice with Morgan Rogers with under 20 minutes remaining to protect the midfielder after he felt discomfort in his lower back and hamstring.
Rice dismissed serious injury concerns, stating he is merely "nursing" neural pains that persisted throughout the second half of the season at Arsenal.
Although teammate Marcus Rashford appeared to hold his hamstring late in the match, Tuchel confirmed there were no major injury worries regarding the forward.
England now turns attention to the next group-stage encounter against Ghana, scheduled for next Tuesday in Boston, as the team builds on their opening victory.
