There was a strong response to Hywel Dda University Health Board's decision to close three stroke units and centralize services in Carmarthen. There are currently stroke units at Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen, Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli, Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth and Ysbyty Llwynwylg in Haverfordwest at the moment, but the plans would involve centralizing stroke services in Carmarthen.
