DCCC Moves Sam Forstag MT01 House Race to ‘Red to Blue’ List
The committee said the district is competitive and will get strategic guidance, staff resources, training and fundraising support.
- On Tuesday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee added five candidates to its "Red to Blue" program, bringing the committee's flagship program to 30 candidates in competitive districts across the country.
- DCCC Chairwoman Suzan DelBene said the expansion aims to capitalize on voter frustration, stating, "In less than 100 days, Democrats will take back the House majority and it will be powered by our incredible candidates."
- Among the recruits is Democrat Sam Forstag, seeking to flip Montana's open House seat currently rated "Likely R" by the Cook Political Report, despite Republicans holding the district since its inception.
- The committee also added Amish Shah, Pia Dandiya, Lindsay James, and Jake Johnson to the program, providing them with strategic guidance, fundraising support, and campaign resources across their districts.
- Forstag will face Republican nominee Aaron Flint in November, with a Democratic victory marking the first time in three decades that Montana has sent a Democrat to the House.
