Jazzy Davidson, No. 11 USC Women Take Control in 2nd Quarter to Beat Portland

On Tuesday night at the Galen Center, No. 11 USC Trojans women's basketball team defeated Portland Pilots 78-51 as freshman guard Jazzy Davidson led with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
USC started cold, missing seven straight 3-point attempts as Lindsay Gottlieb urgently sought a spark after the weekend loss to South Carolina.
A 21-0 run in the second quarter flipped momentum as six players scored, led by Davidson with six points and Kennedy Smith with five, fueled by steals from Malia Samuels and Kara Dunn.
Converting turnovers into points, USC Trojans capitalized on Portland Pilots' 29 turnovers, while Auburn transfer forward Yakiya Milton boosted the bench as Lindsay Gottlieb mixed rotations without JuJu Watkins.
As part of its nonconference slate, the USC Trojans visit Notre Dame on Friday to face their third ranked opponent before returning home to face Tennessee Tech on Nov. 25.
