A "malignant actor" was able to consult a part of the national bank account file (FICOBA), which lists all bank accounts opened in French institutions. According to the Directorate General of Public Finance (DGFiP), these leaks "do not allow to consult the bank accounts in France.
The hacker attack on French bank accounts began already at the end of January. Account balance queries or transactions could not have been carried out.
A "malignant actor" was able to access the national bank account file via the usurped identifiers of one of Bercy's officials.
