- On Friday, PWHL Detroit general manager Manon Rhéaume signed forward Daryl Watts to the league's first four-year contract, an Expansion Foundational Offer guaranteeing an annual salary of at least $100,000.
- Toronto Sceptres general manager Gina Kingsbury attempted to re-sign Watts on Thursday, but the player broke off negotiations during the league's three-day expansion signing process.
- Detroit also signed forward Hannah Bilka and defender Cayla Barnes to standard agreements on Friday, then added Minnesota forward Britta Curl-Salemme to bolster the roster.
- Elsewhere, Charge captain Brianne Jenner joined the new team in Hamilton, Ontario, on a three-year agreement, while San Jose signed Seattle goalie Corinne Schroeder, leaving Las Vegas as the only expansion team without a player.
- Detroit will host the PWHL Draft on June 17 at the Fox Theatre, continuing the league's expansion roster-building phase as teams finalize their inaugural lineups.
