Daniel V. “Dan” Davies, 83 – Ellwood City, PA news

Daniel V. “Dan” Davies, 83, of New Castle passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2025, at AHV Beaver Hospital in Beaver. He was the son of the late Samuel and Catherine (Shanor) Davies and was born May 11, 1943, in Ellwood City. He is survived by his nieces; Cherie Rumbold, of Chesterland, Ohio, Sandy Fischer of Streetsboro, OH, Donna Canacci of Culver, IN, and Rachel Pelkey of Streetsboro, OH and his very close friends; Jerry Jones and his wife Susan of New Castle. Dan was a graduate of Lincoln High School. Upon graduation enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1961-1965, when he was honorably discharged. After he was discharged he met and married his wife Etta Mae and they were married until her death, in 1981. He enjoyed fishing and attending NASCAR races. He was a member of Christ United Church in New Castle. He also took time to volunteer with his church on a 10 day mission trip to Haines, AK. He was also an active member of the James McClintock Post 749 in Wampum. He was preceded in death by his wife; Etta Mae and his sister; Linda Pelkey The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 1:00PM-2:00PM with Military Honors immediately before the Funeral Service that will begin at 2:00PM with Rev. Jeff Hurst, officiating at the Turner-Hyde Funeral Home in Ellwood City. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeveille, PA. Arrangements entrusted to the Turner-Hyde Funeral Home located at 6th and Park in Ellwood City.
