Daniel Lester “Les” Shane, 80, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026, at his home. Les was born May 21, 1946, in Galesburg, the son of Walter F. and Anna Gladys (Deane) Shane. He graduated from Galesburg High School and soon after enlisted in the U.S. Navy.
