Dan Levy ‘Speechless’ After Shane Gillis’ SNL Monologue on Women’s Gym Clothing
Gillis apologized after the slip was censored in the posted clip and quickly spread online.
- On Sunday, October 11, 2026, actor Dan Levy posted a viral Instagram video condemning Shane Gillis's Saturday Night Live monologue for using misogynistic language about women's gym attire.
- Gillis's October 10 appearance marked his third hosting gig since his 2019 firing over resurfaced racist and homophobic podcast comments, reigniting debate about his continued platform.
- During the monologue, Gillis described women's shorts as "artificial bait-colored" and referred to women as "whores," prompting Levy to state, "It makes the men calling them whores misogynists."
- Feminist author Jessica Valenti linked the rhetoric to national conversations about sexual assault, while social media users scrutinized reactions from celebrities including Travis Kelce.
- The episode faced further scrutiny when Gillis accidentally dropped an uncensored F-bomb during a Dr. Seuss-themed sketch, for which he apologized twice during the broadcast.
