Dame Mary Berry 'Immensely Honoured' by Bafta Recognition
The 91-year-old TV cook said she is immensely honoured as the ceremony also gives Martin Lewis a special award for his work on money advice.
Dame Mary Berry accepted the BAFTA Fellowship on Sunday at the 2026 BAFTA Television Awards, receiving the academy's highest honour for her exceptional contribution to British television.
The 91-year-old television star has enjoyed a six-decade career, authoring more than 75 cookbooks after first appearing on Collector's World in Bristol in 1971.
Reuniting with former Great British Bake Off presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, Berry delivered an emotional speech paying tribute to her late son, William, who died in 1989.
Declaring herself "immensely honoured" to receive the accolade, Berry also revealed she "avoids processed foods" as she maintains her health through local butchers and farm shops.
BAFTA chief executive Jane Millichip praised the "particularly strong year" for television, stating the fellowship celebrates Berry's "extraordinary legacy" at the organization's highest-profile event.
