Dakota Johnson Reveals What It Was Really Like Working with Taylor Swift on Patient Zero Promo
Johnson said she and Swift are longtime friends who decided to collaborate, and a 13-second preview confirmed her casting.
- On Friday, actress Dakota Johnson confirmed her appearance in Taylor Swift's new music video for "Patient Zero," released alongside the pop star's expanded album, The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore.
- Swift, who directed the project, released the expanded album featuring four new tracks today. The singer and Johnson have maintained a close friendship for years, with the actress previously named one of the magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2026.
- Johnson told the Fangirl Nation podcast that while she normally avoids mixing work with personal relationships, she made an exception for Swift. "We work really well together," the 36-year-old actress said, noting their mutual creative respect.
- Following a 13-second teaser released Thursday, the full cinematic video will premiere at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday at 7.30 p.m. ET. The promo also features actor Colin Farrell alongside the two stars.
- The collaboration coincides with promotional efforts for Johnson's upcoming psychological thriller, Verity. Based on the novel by Colleen Hoover, the film is scheduled for theatrical release on October 2, 2026.
