Seven-Year-Old Still in Critical Condition After Woman and Daughter Die
Shahin Ahmed thanked rescuers and urged clearer warning signs and more life-saving equipment after his son Musa remained in critical condition.
On Wednesday, July 22, seven-year-old Musa Ahmed remained in critical condition after a water incident at West Mersea Beach that claimed the lives of relatives Shelina Rahman and Sameeha Rahman.
Emergency services responded to Sea View Holiday Park at 5:35 p.m. after reports that several people were struggling in the water near Seaview Avenue.
Father Shahin Ahmed urged authorities to conduct "a review of safety measures," requesting additional life-saving equipment and clear warning signage at the beach.
Essex Police are investigating incident 1090 and ask anyone with footage or information to call 101 to assist with their ongoing inquiry.
During this difficult time, Ahmed expressed gratitude to responders while asking the public to "refrain from speculating," noting that inaccurate media reports have caused additional distress to his grieving family.
