Tristan Priimäe's Cannes diary this time includes two films from the main competition program – Zuzana Kirchnerová's "Caravan" and Kelly Reichardt's "The Thread Puller" – and two films from the Un certain regard program – Saeed Roustaee's "Woman and Child" and Diego Céspedes' "The Mystical Gaze of the Flamingo".
Czech Caravan Fails in Cannes, a Film From Chile Goes to the Prize for Debuting Filmmakers
The award for debuting filmmakers and art pictures in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes International Film Festival was won by Chilean director Diego Céspedes's La misteriosa Mirada del Flamenco (The Mysterious Sight of a Flamingo). This was reported by AFP. Among the twenty films in competition was the Czech film Karavan directed by Zuzana Kirchnerová.
