Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico (Směr) has for the first time admitted to early elections. The reason is the imminent loss of the parliamentary majority due to the conflict between the leader of the smallest government party, the SNS, Andrej Danko, and his nominee for the Ministry of the Environment, Tomáš Taraba. In a Sunday discussion session on TA3, he sent them a clear message.
SNS Chairman Andrej Danko reacted sharply to Prime Minister Robert Fico's (Smer-SD) appearance on the ta3 program V politike on Sunday. He accused the head of government of demagogy and lies and compared him to former SNS Chairman Ján Slot.
He also indicated that he might withdraw the motion for Taraba's impeachment that he submitted to the president. He sees the conflict as a matter of personal hatred between them.
