In response to the upsurge in electricity cuts observed in recent weeks in Côte d'Ivoire, the government decided to move to a higher speed. At the end of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday 1 April 2026 at the Presidential Palace in Abidjan-Plateau, the government spokesman, Amadou Coulibaly, announced the implementation of an emergency programme at an estimated cost of approximately FCFA 32 billion.
