Bitcoin Bull Score Hits 80, but $83K Close Is Key

CryptoQuant said eight of 10 model indicators are bullish as spot and futures demand strengthen, but it warned of near-term selling pressure.

  • Bitcoin has entered the early stages of a new bull market after a 24% rally lifted analytics firm CryptoQuant's Bull Score from 30 to 80, the highest level since October 2025.
  • Accelerating spot demand drove the shift, with Bitcoin ETFs recording about $1.9 billion in net inflows during the week ending August 21, their strongest weekly intake since October 2025.
  • Bitcoin climbed above $80,000, but LMAX Group market strategist Joel Kruger noted a weekly close above the 365-day moving average, currently around $83,000, is required to confirm the shift.
  • Short-Term holder whales realized about $1.2 billion in profits between August 20 and August 22, while CryptoQuant warned the rally may be overheated as exchange inflows climbed to roughly 53,000 BTC.
  • Traders' unrealized profit margins have climbed to 20.5%, the highest since June 2025, suggesting the market could face near-term turbulence as participants convert paper gains into realized profits.
