Crypto exchange Binance rolls out trading in US stocks, ETFs
Eligible users can trade more than 7,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs with zero commission and fractional shares starting at $5, Binance said.
- On Monday, Binance introduced U.S. equities trading, giving eligible users access to more than 7,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs with zero-commission trading and fractional share purchases starting at $5.
- Co-Founder and co-CEO of Binance Yi He stated the company aims to reach the "next 3 billion users" by becoming a "multi-asset financial super app" integrating traditional investing and on-chain finance.
- Binance also announced plans for "bStocks," enabling users to tokenize equities on the BNB blockchain in coming weeks, providing a "native bridge from traditional stock ownership to programmable, always-on tokenized assets."
- This move follows similar offerings from rivals Coinbase and Robinhood; select equities will be available for 24/5 trading as cryptocurrency exchanges increasingly compete to provide comprehensive investment services.
- Regarding regulatory status, Binance clarified that "bStocks" are not registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933 and are unavailable to U.S. persons, with trading involving high market risk and volatility.
