Crushers drop 9-5 decision to Gateway; division lead remains at one

Host Gateway jumped on the Crushers for three runs in the first inning and five in the third on the way to a 9-5 victory Aug. 14. Lake Erie starter Darrien Ragins took the worst of it. In 2 1/3 innings, Ragins gave up seven runs, including a solo home run, a two-run shot and a grand slam. He also hit a batter with the bases loaded. He made 74 pitches, 38 for strikes.
