Creston Valley Wildsight work bees protect turtles - Creston Valley Advance

Wildsight Creston Valley holds volunteer work bees throughout the year. Recently two work bees were held to protect Western Painted Turtles from road mortalities during nesting season by building and repairing fencing that keeps the turtles off roadways. The fencing is seasonally installed – in spring it guides turtles away from the road and towards safer areas and is then removed in fall to prevent snowplow damage. Community volunteers restore …
