The cremation of former Surinamese President Chan Santokhi will take place on Tuesday, April 7, spokesman Jason Saiman confirmed to the ANP. Santokhi died unexpectedly on Monday after becoming unwell at his home. Monday, April 6, and Tuesday, April 7, have been declared days of national mourning by the government of President Jennifer Simons, ‘as an expression of sympathy and respect,’ according to the Ministry of the Interior on Facebook.
