After a long, long summer for Newcastle United fans, the Magpies finally got their new talisman through the door when they signed German international Nick Woltemade from VfB Stuttgart in a £69 million deal.
The departure of Nick Woltemade to Newcastle United flushed a lot of money into the cash registers of VfB Stuttgart. The Swabians, however, had little time to commit a replacement. Bundesliga competitor FC Augsburg had the VfB flashed off quite hard just before the end of the transfer window.
