Crash closes much of I-485 in north Charlotte, causes serious injuries

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A crash on Interstate 485 closed several lanes in north Charlotte Friday afternoon.  According to N.C. Department of Transportation, the incident was reported at 5:10 p.m. on I-485 east of Exit 23. Three of the four lanes were closed, and as of 5:30 p.m. heavy backups stretched nearly to Mallard Creek Road (Exit 28).  Medic officials say one person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.  The s…
