Monday is the last day of the Lower Fuel Prices program. With the reinstatement of the standard VAT rate, gasoline prices could increase by approximately 0.80 PLN per liter on September 1st, and diesel by nearly 0.70 PLN. As the program expires, queues have begun to form at gas stations across the country.
On Monday, some stations ran out of fuel.

In Zakopane and surrounding towns, drivers rushed to the gas stations before the Lower Fuel Prices package expired. According to PAP, by Monday evening, some stations were already out of gasoline and diesel, and long lines formed at the pumps. The end of the summer holidays also brought additional traffic.
Drivers seeking to refuel at a discount on the last day of the CPN program found themselves in long lines. Some stations were closed due to fuel shortages.
Gas stations in Zakopane and surrounding towns began running low on fuel on Monday, the last day of the so-called CPN package. Long lines of drivers formed at the pumps in the afternoon, and some stations closed after 8 p.m. Similar reports of closed pumps were received on the RMF FM Hotline from locations including Krakow.
