- Alberta skaters remain eligible for local programs, as the decision only affects national- and international-level events, a spokesperson for Skate Canada said.
- That change follows Calgary's recent role as host, despite Calgary hosting the 2025-26 Skate Canada Challenge from Nov. 27-30 and the 2024 national championships.
- Skate Canada said it will continue to monitor legislative developments in the province and will reassess hosting opportunities as circumstances evolve, noting Alberta skaters remain eligible for programs.
