Missing baby believed dead after mother’s remains found in Alberta apartment: RCMP

- On Jan. 23, Mounties responded to a report about a suspicious item and found Ayla Egotik-Learn, 23-year-old woman, dead in her Rivercrest Crescent neighbourhood, St. Albert, Alta., apartment.
- Court records show Christopher William Beasley, 33-year-old suspect, was the infant's father and pleaded guilty to assaulting Ayla Egotik-Learn, 23-year-old victim, in early 2025 with 18 months probation.
- On Saturday, officers arrested 33-year-old Christopher William Beasley at a St. Albert hotel, and police charged him on Tuesday with one count of second-degree murder and two counts of indignity to a body.
- RCMP say Braylee Beasley, the nine-month-old daughter, is missing and presumed deceased, and Mounties continue searching as investigators `have some understanding` of where her remains are located, Insp. Wayne Stevenson said.
- A court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 2 for Christopher William Beasley at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert.
