Mobile home rescue saves 22 dogs in Lapwai
LAPWAI, Idaho – Nez Perce Tribal Police and the Idaho Animal Rescue Network (IARN) rescued 22 small dogs from a mobile home on Grouse Road. The rescue followed concerns about the living conditions observed during a recent grass fire evacuation.
Last year, officials took 87 miniature spitz dogs from a dog kennel to a shelter because of poor conditions. An ongoing lawsuit then erupted, with six people claiming that 14 of the dogs belonged to them, not the breeder. Three of the dogs have now been returned under preliminary injunction.
