On Monday, the District Court for Prague 1 imposed a two-year suspended sentence on former State Security (StB) officer Juraj Štúr for his part in the persecution of actor and now senator Tomáš Töpfer. According to the non-final verdict, Štúr, who did not attend the hearing, was guilty of abusing the authority of an official. The StB targeted the actor because of his views as well as because of his Jewish background.
The court has given former member of the communist State Security (StB) Juraj Štúr (71) a two-year suspended sentence for participating in the persecution of actor Tomáš Töpfer (75) because of his views on the socialist regime and his Jewish origin.
