THE GOVERNMENT cannot promise that around 33,000 tons of buried waste in Gospić will be completely excavated, transported and disposed of within three months, said Minister of Environmental Protection and Green Transition Marija Vučković.
The scandal involving the uncontrolled import of hazardous waste into Gospić is becoming increasingly embarrassing for Prime Minister Andrej Plenković. Environmental protesters have given the Banski dvor twenty days to present a feasible remediation plan. Plenković announces a tightening of the criminal code in the field of environmental crimes.

The government has announced that it will continue to work on the remediation of buried waste in Gospić, although it cannot guarantee its complete removal within the scheduled three-month period.
