County still expecting funds to cover Helene cleanup - The True Citizen
Burke County is still awaiting reimbursement for costs associated with the September 27, 2024 Hurricane Helene damage. Michael Wiseman, Chief Financial Officer for the county, said this week that the county has collected $16.6 million of the anticipated $21.9 million. The outstanding balance is $5.3 million.
