Arrest Warrant Issued for Country Artist Bailey Zimmerman in New Mexico
Prosecutors say the singer caused $16,000 in damage and left an unpaid alcohol tab after hotel staff found his room trashed.
- On June 18, Sandia Police filed an arrest warrant for country singer Bailey Zimmerman, charging him with a felony for criminal damage to property and a misdemeanor for allegedly obtaining services under false pretenses stemming from a May 27 incident in New Mexico.
- The hotel alleged Zimmerman caused approximately $16,000 in damage to his room, including damage to the TV, phone, furniture, walls and carpet, along with two missing chairs. He also allegedly charged more than $400 in alcohol without paying.
- Acting erratically during soundcheck at Sandia Resort on May 27, authorities noted Zimmerman stumbling and acting hostilely while throwing stage equipment. He canceled the performance and announced on Instagram he was 'feeling under the weather,' promising to reschedule.
- After allegedly refusing to leave in a bus provided by the resort, Zimmerman was escorted off the property by staff and police. When authorities could not reach him or his team, they pursued the arrest warrant.
- Despite these legal troubles, Zimmerman remains one of country music's most commercially successful new artists, though whether the felony charges will affect his standing with fans and future performances remains uncertain.
