In-N-Out Scammers Hit A Dozen Locations With Counterfeit Bills: Police
Two Long Beach women used counterfeit bills to defraud about a dozen In-N-Out restaurants across Los Angeles and Orange counties, police said.
- On Friday, Glendale Police Department announced they arrested Auriona Lewis, 24, and Tatiyanna Foster, 26, both of Long Beach, in a counterfeiting scheme targeting about a dozen In-N-Out restaurants in Los Angeles and Orange counties.
- The probe began on Oct. 21 after a report of fake currency, and police said the suspects targeted a Glendale In-N-Out location on Oct. 25, fitting a pattern of similar cases.
- Detectives working with In-N-Out security used surveillance video and search warrants to identify Auriona Lewis and Tatiyanna Foster; Lewis possessed counterfeit $100 bills, gift cards, and receipts showing $5.93 and $2.53 purchases.
- On Oct. 30, Glendale Police Financial Crime Detectives, assisted by K9 officers and a U.S. Marshals Task Force, arrested Auriona Lewis in Palmdale; the LA County District Attorney's Office charged her in November while Tatiyanna Foster surrendered Dec. 15 and remains jailed pending charges.
- Authorities urged victims and witnesses to call 818-548-4840 after about a dozen In-N-Out restaurants were victimized, and she’s due back in Pasadena on Jan. 20.
