At the beginning of January, fewer animals were sighted than before. According to bird protectors, this is also due to ice and snow – but not only.

The 21st "Hour of the Winter Birds" organized by the Bavarian State Association for Bird and Nature Conservation and NABU took place in January. It shows that there are fewer winter birds in Bavaria.
15 years ago volunteers counted almost 46 birds per hour, now it is 32: a new low. The numbers have been falling for years. But the result is to enjoy with caution.
