Lambeth Council has voted unanimously against a proposal that would have placed Cllr Irfan Mohammed — who is currently facing serious criminal charges – on its Investigations Committee. Cllr Mohammed, elected as a Labour councillor but now sitting as an Independent after having the party whip withdrawn, was arrested in July on charges of sexual assault, exposure and controlling and coercive behaviour.
