The Council of State has criticized the private member's bill by D66 MP Bamenga and former NSC MP Koops to explicitly prohibit ethnic profiling. In an advisory opinion published on December 15, the Advisory Division states that the proposal adds little to existing legislation and actually creates additional legal uncertainty.
