Eligible voters will have to go to the polls again, the municipal council decided during a meeting overnight. A re-vote for municipal elections is very rare.
After a nerve-wracking council meeting, the former municipal council of Gorinchem decided on Monday evening to run the municipal elections in their entirety. With 13 votes in favor and 12 against, there was a narrow majority for a rerun. Within a month, the residents of Gorinchem will have to go to the polls again.
