In Côte d'Ivoire, Laurent Gbagbo maintains the blur on the future of the Parti des peuples africaines de Côte d'Ivoire (PPA-CI), the day after his reintroduction at the head of the opposition party. The Ivorian ex-president spoke at the renaissance festival of the political party, on 16 May 2026, in Songon, west of Abidjan. In front of his activists, the opponent gives no clue about possible successors.
At a meeting in Songon M'Bratté, former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo, newly re-elected leader of the Parti des peuples Afriques-Côte d'Ivoire (PPA-CI), announced that he would delegate his powers very soon.
