Córdoba Implements Innovative Immunization Strategy and Decreases by 73% Children's Hospitalizations
Córdoba concluded the winter contingency 2026 without registering deaths due to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in children under one year old, and achieved a 73% decrease in hospitalizations in this segment compared to the previous season. In the population as a whole, hospital admissions attributable to the virus were reduced by 78%.
The province combined maternal vaccination with nirsevimab for unprotected newborns and achieved coverage of over 96 per cent.
