Copiah chicken flock found diseased

Special to Wesson News   The Mississippi Board of Animal Health (MBAH) has been notified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Veterinary Services Laboratory that poultry from a commercial broiler chicken flock in Copiah County has tested positive for highly pathogenic H5N1 avian influenza.   USDA does not release the exact location of the flock.  It is the first outbreak in Copiah County since February 2023.   Samples from the…
