Cooking at home has been associated by a Japanese study with a lower risk of dementia among older adults. The risk is reduced even further, by as much as 70 per cent, for people with little cooking experience. Cooking is a source of physical activity, but it may also provide cognitive stimulation useful in preventing dementia.
