Fondenex (Fund for the Defense of the Natural and Cultural Heritage of Extremadura) has insisted that the placing of cages, by itself, has not been enough to combat what it considers a plague of pigeons in the autonomous capital. The entity has reacted in this way after the City of Mérida has made public that a company has placed 15 cages and has captured 191 pigeons in the urban center of the city, with a budget of 18,000 euros.
