- Manufacturers including Nestle, Danone and Lactalis issued recalls since December, while the complaint alleges control delays and French agriculture minister Annie Genevard said procedures were "very well followed".
- A formal complaint requests prosecutors to investigate as two separate criminal investigations follow two infants' deaths, and the European Food Safety Authority will issue an opinion on Feb 2.

Eight French families who said their babies suffered severe digestive problems after drinking recalled formula have joined a lawsuit filed by European consumer association Foodwatch.
Nestlé, Danone and Lactalis are at issue in a complaint against X for endangering the physical integrity of infants, aggravated deception and breach of security obligations. Eight families, accompanied by the Foodwatch association, accused, on 29 January, the infant milk giants of having delayed recall of consignments potentially contaminated with cereulide toxin.
