DOÑA ANA COUNTY, NEW MEXICO, JUL 14 – The project features a 150 MW solar plant and 600 MWh battery system to provide clean energy for 60,000 homes and enhance grid reliability under a 20-year agreement.
- On July 14, 2025, DESRI and El Paso Electric initiated construction on a 150 MWac solar and 600 MWh battery storage facility located in Doña Ana County, New Mexico.
- The project followed the Carne solar and storage project that started construction in 2024 and secured financing from a consortium including DNB Bank ASA and National Bank of Canada.
- The Santa Teresa project features a 600 MWh battery storage system and a 150 MW solar facility in Doña Ana County, New Mexico, operating under a two-decade energy supply contract with El Paso Electric to deliver renewable power to roughly 60,000 homes annually.
